• We currently have some text and image based slides in meteor, we created them in adobe illustrator. They show crisp in illustrator and also in image viewer when we save as jpeg. When we uploaded them to meteor via wordpress the text becomes slightly blurry. They become crisp again for about 0.5 seconds during slide transition and then blur again. Any ideas of how to remedy this? Thanks!

Can you post a link so I can check it out?

Hi, thnks for your response. You can see it on this site. Its very slight blurring but on slides where the text is smaller it is much more noticable.

I think the problem is that the slide images are scaling just a tad even at full size and this is distorting the image slightly. The slideshow is set to 960×250, but the first image is 960×249 and it is being scaled in the browser to 959×259. Try reuploading the slide images at exactly the same size as the slideshow dimensions, if they match perfectly the images shouldn’t scale at full size.

    Hi!
Thanks so much for looking into this for us. You’re right that one of the slides in that slider is 960×249 instead of 960×250 and so it would follow that the slight blurriness is from scaling, however we are using the slider on another site (sorry we can’t link to it yet as its still under construction) and all the slides measure 960×250 and we are still getting the blurriness.
I have uploaded the meteor css to pastebin in case there’s a setting which we’ve overlooked.
    Any ideas?

It looks OK to me, what browser are you using, is it doing this in all browsers?

    Seems worse in Firefox

I do notice it in Firefox, but it looks to be related to the sizing, because when it sharpens, the size is changing to the full size for a moment.

There could be more going on, but I would resolve the sizing issue first, get all the slides fitting perfectly and if it is still blurry I can dig into it further.

We can see this happening on 2 sites, one of which all the images are at the correct size, so there must be something more to it. I can’t send you a link to that site just yet, but will do as soon as possible. Thanks for now! 🙂

Sure, I don’t doubt it, I just need to eliminate suspects to narrow the problem down.

    disregard my post
