The same thing happened to me! Albums are totally gone – but the short codes are all still there.
I also have the same problem with galleries created from tags (nggtags gallery=xyz) – that fuzzy slideshow thing showed up.
My site: http://thealternativebride.com
Yup that’s exactly my situation.
If this helps the developers, this page has the short code [ album id=2 template=extend ]:
http://www.thealternativebride.com/photo-gallery/
And this page used to just be thumbnails that you could click on to open up a lightbox but now is the weird slideshow. It was created with the short code [ nggtags gallery=unique ]:
http://www.thealternativebride.com/bridal-bouquet-pictures-unique-wedding-flowers/
Same problem (wordpress 3.5). Any solutions? Tnx!
the GALLERYVIEW plugin caused the issues for me. I uninstalled it and the problem went away.
Outbuildings – thank you sooo much! Uninstalling the Galleryview plugin fixed it for me, as well. I don’t even remember installing that plugin… weird.
Unfortunately I have no such plugin installed… Problem remains, but the flash slideshow does work (on supported devices only unfortunately). Tnx!
Same issue. All of my images no longer load and I can’t even access them through the back-end. Any ideas?
I would recommend playing around with disabling any plugins you have installed, especially newer ones… sorry, I know that’s not a great answer but plugin incompatibility is so often the issue with WordPress problems…
I have the same issue for 2 WP websites. The problem appears 2 weeks ago. I think by updating WordPress / Nextgen!
I tried to uninstalling plugins / de-activate them, but no results.
I changed the website url in the nextgen settings and the website settings but no results. The images are still there, but they don’t open when I click on the album!
These are the websites:
http://www.jvkfotografie.nl/concert-theater/
http://www.reis.jessevanklaveren.nl/?page_id=35
There is a solution: You can add a page for every different album (no global gallery page) but I don’t want this.
Does anyone know if this is a problem of nextgen or wordpress?
Please help!
