Support » Plugin: LeagueManager » Using League Manager for Cricket

  • Hello,

I run a sports website, where I use this plugin. I have successfully used it for football and now want to add cricket into it. I’ve very little knowledge of php,

I was then wondering whether someone here could explain me how to add the new sport into it. I need it for both league standings where the points system is different from league to league and in championship mod for World Cups. Bellow are samples for both versions I need it for.

    League Mod

    Championship Mod

Also I forgot to add dates for semi-finale and finale for a football tournament, now that the group stage is over I can’t post the result of the knock out stage. Is there anyway to add them or shall I start the league all over again?

  • Hi Seeya,

Sis you ever get this working? I am the administrator for a cricket club and am looking at doing the same sort of thing – any help would be appreciated.

    Hi dramsell,

I’m a brow 🙂 noph I gave up, there is no support for this plugin, and I’m not skilled enough to sort it by myself.

If you are welling, two of us could share the costs of hiring someone to create us a custom plugin with not only standings but scorecards, players stats, averages etc.

Please let me know if your interested or if you find an other solution

    Hey guys…

The developer of the plugin has been hard at work on his PhD over the last couple of years and has had to put further development on LeagueManager on hold. Over the last week he’s agreed to let me help him going forward, so I’m going to do the best I can to support the plugin.

Seeyar, I’ll have a look at your links, but in the meantime if you guys can give me some info on what you need to make LeagueManager work for you, let’s see if we can get it done…

    Hello LaMonte,

Thanks a lot for the replay, I had the plugin installed for football. But it crashed my site with the latest update so I removed it through ftp. I still have the files saved in hope of restoring it one day.

As written above, for a football tournament in Championship mod I forgot to add dates for semi-finale and finale, now that the group stage is over I can’t post the result of the knock out stage. Is there anyway to add them or shall I start the league all over again?

As for cricket these are the tables that I would like to add to my site WCL Championship 2011-13 and Icup 2011-13

I don’t need the fields to the right “For and Against”

Also I have a league coming up in the championship mod as the link posted in my first post.

Looking forward to hear from you
    Thanks,

    Hi LaMonte,

    Thanks for the reply! 🙂

The first thing I am trying to figure out is how to display the scores in a cricket format – I’m not sure which country you’re from or how much you know about cricket but scoring isn’t as simple as Team A: 10 and Team B: 5.

    Cricket scores are displayed as:
Team A: 232/8 (this means 232 runs with 8 wickets out)
Team B: 244/10 (as above, 244 runs for 10 wickets)

By entering in “232/8” LeagueManager reads it as “232 divided by 8” and outputs a sum lol – which isn’t convenient 🙂 How would I display the result as 232/8? (in cricket, the team with the most runs is the winner, so in my example, Team B would win). If you do know about cricket, feel free to tell me to stop talking to you like you’ve never heard of the game before 🙂

Next thing would be to add additional columns to the table – the columns my whole table would need are:
Played (P) / Won Batting First (WBF) / Won Batting Second (WBS) / Lost Batting First (LBF) / Lost Batting Second (LBS) / Cancelled (C) / Abandoned (A) / Winning Draw (WD) / Losing Draw (LD) / Batting Points (BatP) / Bowling Points (BowlP) / Penalty (Pen) / Points (Pts)

It is quite a substantial table! Let me know if this is something you’d be able to assist with?

    Thanks again!

    Good information…

No dramsell, I’m not very familiar with cricket, so assume I know nothing when you give me info…

    Thanks!

Hi LaMonte – any luck with my request?

I also have a new strange issue – I have multiple leagues running:
Division 1: League Table automatic sorting works fine
    eg:
    1) Team A: Played 10 – Won 10 – Lost 0 – Points: 10
    2) Team B: Played 10 – Won 9 – Lost 1 – Points: 9
    3) Team C: Played 10 – Won 8 – Lost 2 – Points: 8
    4) Team D: Played 10 – Won 7 – Lost 3 – Points: 7
    5) Team E: Played 10 – Won 6 – Lost 4 – Points: 6
    6) Team F: Played 10 – Won 5 – Lost 5 – Points: 5

Division 2: League table mostly works however the last team (team F) is in the wrong position, it should be in position 4?
    1) Team A: Played 1 – Won 1 – Lost 0 – Points: 5
    2) Team B: Played 1 – Won 1 – Lost 0 – Points: 5
    3) Team C: Played 1 – Won 1 – Lost 0 – Points: 5
    4) Team D: Played 0 – Won 0 – Lost 0 – Points: 0
    5) Team E: Played 0 – Won 0 – Lost 0 – Points: 0
    6) Team F: Played 1 – Won 0 – Lost 1 – Points: 3

Division 3: League table automatic sorting doesn’t work at all?
    1) Team A: Played 0 – Won 0 – Lost 0 – Points: 0
    2) Team B: Played 0 – Won 0 – Lost 0 – Points: 0
    3) Team C: Played 1 – Won 0 – Lost 1 – Points: 3
    4) Team D: Played 0 – Won 0 – Lost 0 – Points: 0
    5) Team E: Played 0 – Won 0 – Lost 0 – Points: 0
    6) Team F: Played 1 – Won 1 – Lost 0 – Points: 5

I haven’t had any time to do anything with this as I have some client work and core code things I’m working on right now.

Hopefully I’ll get through a few things early this week.

    Hi there,

I am also interested in using this plugin for a Cricket website that I have planned.

Please could you keep us updated on the plans for the plugin?

    Thanks

    Hi Reegz,

Shall we team up and share the costs of a plugin that can solve our problems?

I’m given the task of revamping my local cricket club’s website and I am ready to join in the pot so to speak and participate financially in development.
