  • With WP Multisite, there is ONE install of WP, ONE host (the primary) and the sub sites are managed through the primary domain. The domain mapping plugin (referred to in your link) maps domains that may be listed with another provider, but there is no hosting involved for the subdomains.

    Site 1 on domain.com on host A
    Site 2 on sub1.domain.com on host A, URL Site2.com DNS points to host A
    Site 3 on sub2.domain.com on host A, URL Site3.com DNS points to host A

    Perhaps I misunderstood your question? If you have multiple installs of WP on different hosting providers, then you probably need to look into Infinite WP or Manage WP plugins to manage multiple installs from one login.

    Multisite manages several sites from ONE install of WP.
