Changing archive page

I’m using the glossary archive page (…/wordpress/glossary) to display terms, but I want this page to be different from my other archives (post titles shouldn’t link to the post).

Will it work to create a category archive file (category-glossary.php) to override these options, or is there a file in the plugin that WordPress uses (rather than archive.php from the theme)?
