Make length of excerpt configurable

    Hello,

    is it possible to add a new option regarding the length of an excerpt (if there is no custom excerpt and no “More” tag)? Currently, Subscribe2 has a hardcoded $excerpt_length (in classes/class-s2-core.php) set to 55. I’d like to see a GUI option for that.

    @abaumg,

    Are you changing this for every version then and that’s why you’d like a more permanent method of changing the value?

    I’m concerned that many users won’t need this and the WordPress way has always been “decision, not options”. As such an alternative route would be to apply a filter to the number so that a mini-plugin will alter the default behaviour and this would also be maintained between updates.
