    Late yesterday all my post links started pointing back at the index page instead of taking the reader to each full post. My website is Real Talk World.

    I did change some file permissions.

    I did have trouble figuring out how to install images properly.

    I did post two copies of the same article, one imbedded in another post with the same images and links, which I've since removed.

    Any suggestions?

    I recently started having the same problem, only I didn't do anything out of the ordinary. My host recently upgraded to mysql 5.0 I am running wordpress 2.2 with the wp-cache plugin (it happens even if I clear the cache and deactivate the plugin)You seem to have fixed the problem you were having could you tell me what you did?

    if you want to check out my site it is www.blog.thesietch.org

    9 times out of 10 it's related to Permalinks.

    Visit Options -> Permalinks and resave your current options. Check the bottom of the page, is it telling you to manually update .htaccess? If not, check to make sure .htaccess has wordpress stuff in it.

    hello handy, I have updated the permalinks, and checked the .htaccess file and everything seems to be fine. I have a sneaky suspicion it is something my host did as they just sent out an email about updating there domain management software...And its happening in multiple wordpress installs with different databases now...just thought someone would know what could cause this.

    Recompiling apache and forgetting to include mod_rewrite would to it nicely!

    Upgrading and forgetting to set up AllowOverrides would as well.

    You might check on mod_rewrite.
    Create a test.php file and in it, put:
    <?php phpinfo() ?>

    Upload it to your site and then browse to it. Search for mod_rewrite and see if it is listed?

    When done, remove test.php from your site!

    you were right solo, they did recompile and left mod_rewrite out, in fact I searched the customer forums and found other wordpress users having the same problem. I sent them a friendly reminder so hopefully it will get solved soon.
