Problems posting larger amounts of text

    I have the latest version of WordPress installed and I have problems posting large amounts of text within the single post. Large amount ~ 1 page of a Word document.
    When I hit the publish button, I get the following error message:

    404 – Not Found

    Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.

    And the URL in the adress bar is still: http://www.myblog.net/wp-admin/post.php

    Have any of you ever had a similar problem? If you had faced it and found out how to handle it, please post here. Thank you!

    hi iulianis,

    Try first posting it in notepad, so all word markup is removed. Then copy past it from notepad to wordpress.

    Word has crapy html markup so thats probably what’s messing up your wordpress.

    ps. Not many people read large amounts of text online. People rather scan for the info they need. Therefore it’s good practice to keep online text 1/2 smaller than you would for print.

    Hey DE, thank you for your reply.

    Well, I said ~1 Word document page because I wanted to help the ones who will see my post to make an idea about the length of the post.

    I actually write the text directly into the WordPress text box and when I press the Publish button I get that error I stated before.

    I know that, but this is a personal blog and the people who visit this blog will read the posts now matter what their length is.

    Do you have access to the database? Something like phpMyAdmin will let you see the original content as stored in the database. I had a problem where extra text was in front of a very important database entry that was stopping all my posts from showing up… I fixed it by taking the crap out.

    I have another problem, its crazy…. my posts are long and they ruin the layout… i’m lucky, your posts wont even show up…

    How much have you customized your wordpress? I had to re-install a few times because of strange crap like this…
