Hi…Please be warned about hosting wordpress on godaddy.com. Since a 5 days my site is terribly slow. I had a reverse iplookup and found 2600 sites hosted on the same server. When I mailed them about the issue, they agreed but also suggested an upgrade. They are giving no time frame for solving the issue.

My blog contains just a couple of posts and probably only one or two people visiting per day. The sad thing is that I have recommended godaddy to many over the years, and now it looks like I will have to exit myself.

I found numerous posts about wordpress related issues with godaddy, that were related an year back……so it looks like a consistent problem. They seem to lure with cheap hosting and then tell you to upgrade when things do run well. Sorry Godaddy never thought you would do something as this after growing big.

  • Same exact experience on my own site at http://yonginusa.ballio.com

Have been a Go Daddy customer for awhile, but a new hosting customer since 1/9/13. The past few days I’ve seen terrible performance of the site with only 12 pages, 2 posts and 0 comments in it. By terrible, I mean 20sec+ response times to completely failed responses when testing with tools that measure from multiple sites.

The GoDaddy response to my support incident was literally, “I have reviewed your hosting account and ran some testing and can verify that there is a high usage rate occurring on your hosting server at this time. This occasionally happens in a shared hosting environment due to the amount of users and traffic on it…” I read this as, “too bad…expect this often.”

Rene LeBlanc, Manager of Critical Facilities assured me in his video that my site would be “Always Up. Always Fast,” right there on the hosting options page. Rene…what’s up?

I had the same problem last month and had to switch. I just started my new site but was with godaddy since the beginning. The raw wordpress (no plugins) would be unbearable to use would take around 20 seconds to load with no traffic. Godaddys response was they were having tech problems and would be resolved soon. 2 days later still was not fixed so I left. I did not want to wait around its hard enough to get a site up and running aside from having a unreliable host. Apparently this is a ongoing problem with godaddy from what I have found.

Same deal here with my movie review blog YouSeenThat.com… yesterday it was down for several hours, and over the last week it has been painfully slow. I guess you get what you pay for. If it doesn’t improve I might look at migrating my site to another host.

I think its back to normal today…..but it would have been good to get time frame and a notice about the problem. GODADDY do let us know if you run into problems for days together…..that way we know you are working to sort it out.
