What t-p doesn’t understand is that like ‘lamks’ I too have filled in the previous page and received the same message. Following the link given just produces the same result !!!!!!

Go and delete the Fantastico installation form your cPanel area. If that doesn’t work, go into the file manager and delete everything in the folder that you’re intalling it in, then remove the database from the system.

After you do that, try the installation again. If you still get the same message, contact your hosting comapny for support, or delete it all and do a manual install.

How can you delete anything when nothing has been created. You fill in the first page of the setup process and then you get the error message which seems to indicate that you can’t access mysql.

    NOTHING is created !!!!

    i am sorry for interrupt

    Wrong.

To get WordPress to the point where you need to enter the DB information, Fantastico will have installed all of the WordPress files as well as the database. That’s why you need to delete those files.

As I said before, if you are having problems with Fantastico or another automated installer (msot of them are next to useless from what I’ve seen) do a manual installation.
