Here is more complete information about the problem I am having.
The icons for RSS and email show up fine. However, they don’t work.
The RSS goes to a page full of code. The email goes to a blank page.
I have double checked my RSS feed url and double checked to be sure I had my email entered correctly.
My blog url: http://feralcompassliving.com
thank you!

Update:
Checked the buttons again today. checked the rss url once again, checked my email once again – everything is entered correctly.
Today clicking the rss icon gives me a document tree and clicking the email icon opens a box that asks me about windows live essentials – I do not use windows email. I entered an email address for gmail.
Once again my blog url: http://feralcompassliving.com
Sounds like you’re using Chrome and you don’t have desktop e-mail set up correctly.
Chrome does not display .xml RSS feeds in a user-friendly way. Open it in Internet Explorer or Firefox. It’ll work.
As for e-mail, unless you have a browser plugin to send mailto: links to gmail, it’s not going to work. For me, it opens all e-mails from the browser to Outlook.
Going to your blog, everything is working as intended.

Thank you for your time and patience.
RSS works fine in firefox
However, I did have my email set up correctly and in Firefox the email link works just fine.
