• Hi there!
I’m new to this forum and I have a little problem about the structure of my posts.

I made a blog whose main topic is an argument that needs a disclaimer at the beginning of every post.

I modified the file content-single and added the disclaimer, but it only shows up when the post is visualized as a single post.

When I access to the main page with the list of the recent posts, the disclaimer doesn’t appear.

How can I do to make it appear even in the recent posts?

    Thanks in advance!!!

  • What theme are you using?

The recent posts are most likely being pulled in on the home page with index.php or front-page.php, can’t tell you for sure without knowing the theme.

You would just add the same type of thing inside the loop in one of those files and it’ll show.

    I’m using twenty-eleven!

Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. First create a child theme for your changes.

Agreed, and once you have a child theme, copy content.php and edit a version of it in your child theme. The child version of content.php will then overwrite the actual Twenty-Eleven theme.

Main importance of child theme is to prevent loss of edits when updates come around.

The one I’m working on is already a child theme!

So did you edit content.php or only content-single.php? content.php is used through index.php, which shows on the home page

OK! I edited both files and now it shows the disclaimer in both ways.

    Thanks a lot! 😀
