Installing Theme on Localhost

    Hey!

    I have installed wordpress and a mysql database using xampp. However, ive got the site running but when im gonna install a theme i get this message.

    “
    Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2013/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
    “

    I uploaded a zip-file with the theme.

    Hi, I am no expert, new to this myself, that is why i am browsing this forum, but if you copy the theme folder to the themes folder on your local wordpress site inside htdocs folder, go to site admin and you should see it there,
    dont know if this helps!

    Ive got it, the there was a permission issue, the server didnt have permission to write anything in my website folder. For anyone who get this problem. Assuming you have Mac. htdocs, “your website folder”(wordpress files) Right click, get info, permissions on the bottom, write and read for everyone.
