As a workaround to having users set their own post_format to then display it with the proper template, I am trying to use Custom Fields and then have conditional statements in my template.

However when trying to add a custom field in WP User Frontend I’m getting a Something went wrong error, and no custom field created.

I’m going to try building the functionality myself by extending the plugin, but would love to see this awesome feature work.

    I’m running a WP 3.5 Multisite.

I figured out how to determine post format directly, code is here.

Also I think the custom fields error came from the fact I had not enabled the custom fields checkbox in WP User Frontend: Settings > Frontend Posting.
