Any local wordpress editor ?

Hello, I wonder if there is a good editor that can be used locally to write and format the post to be published then on the wordpress site. I used Office Word today for this, it works nice but is slow and it scales the images.

Is there some other tool that became a standard for this?
I want to write the blog locally and then click “publish” and the software should also upload the images.
What else is used for this?
