You have numerous validation errors, some of which are likely to be causing formatting issues.
Use the Error Explanation Guidelines and strive for valid webpages. Focus on errors that state unclosed elements for now.

Ok, just took a look at the validation errors.
This is strange…I do not make any tweaks to my site CSS code, do you think it is perhaps an issue of too many widgets/plugins interacting with the theme?
Could I be creating invalid pages without realizing it?

Plugins can generated validation errors. Try deactivating all plugins & run the validator again.
The errors in that validator report are not CSS errors – they are mark-up (HTML errors). There may be some that are from the theme and they are probably not a problem, but errors from your content (open or missing, or stray or extra tags in particular) will cause layout problems.
