    Hi all,

I have two sites. Both running the latest versions of WP. But after the latest upgrade from WordPress 3.4.2 to 3.5 on my main site the widgets has stopped working correctly. On my secondary site I didn’t upgrade and there I don’t have this problem.

The problem is only in handling the widgets when logged in and I want to change a setting or add/remove a widget. I can’t do anyting of these actions in the 3.5 version. I have amongst other a Link widget activated and I can add and remove a new link, and I can see the changes made when viewing the site, also new posts are listed in the Recent Post widget.

But I can not pull down any widget in the sidebar to see it’s setting in the sidebar or add a new widget or remove a widget from the sidebar..

Anyone nows of a fix for this problem in the 3.5 version?

    /A

Thanks for the tip, but there was nothing useful there!

So I still need some help figuring this out. I have tried some other Themes but that don’t change the widget problem.

    Do your hosts use mod_pagespeed?

I checked with my host and they don’t support mod_pagespeed on their servers.

Is this good or bad for me?

Right now, that’s good. Did you try all of the other suggestions?

Yeap I have done everything else, no solution yet…

Are both sites on the same physical server?

Yes, the sites are on the same physical server. The main one is in the root and the the secondary one is in a sub folder.

Try adding define('SCRIPT_DEBUG', true);to the bottom of your wp-config.php file (just before the require_once line).

I done that now, but no change in the behavior of the widget settings in the sidebar!

Any other things I can try before I resort to a downgrage back to the previous version…

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Check your theme files to be sure it’s not calling in an external jQuery script. I had several sites that were unregistering WordPress’ core jQuery call, and replacing it with Google’s API. I forgot to update the call to Google, so it was using an old version of jQuery.

There we have it – the plugins!!!

I have deactivated all (four) plugins and suddenly the sidebar works again. And the culprit seems to be the very one plugin/widget I wanted to configure! Now I am going to see if I can get it to work again, otherwise I might find another plugin as replacement.

Thanks a lot for you help 🙂
