When I create a post and put url links imbedded in the text they just come out as regular text. What is the correct way to get a link in my post? Or do I have a problem such as a file without the correct permission?
I have been looking for the answer for two days. Please help.
    Thanking you in advance.

A link to your site would be handy so that we can see what's going on.

For example I don't know if you're simply typing a URL in a post and hoping it's going to turn out as a link, or properly creating a link anchor and something's going wrong with your blog.

Haecceity, I use the anchor tag then target= with "new" then the normal URL then the word I'm embedding the link in surrounded with ><. This does not work for me. Sorry I couldn't use the actual code in this post.
I would give you a link to my site but there is nothing on it... I just installed wordpress.
Thank you for your response, I appreciate it.

You shouldn't use the wysiwyg-editor for typing in html (and I suppose you did just that).

Well, there are usually tabs where you you have your textarea to write posts... you can choose between wysiwyg (left) and code (right). I'm not exactly sure what it's called in English, though. The difference is, that wysiwyg displays content html-formatted, and in "code" (or whatever it's called) you can input html.

Ok, thanks. I got it working with your help. I just need to play with it a bit to get used to it.
