help with css-dock-menu in themes

I’m trying to get the css-dock-menu to work in a theme.
I’ve tried theming the working html file that came with it and altering a ready-made theme, neither of which work. I’ve tried the iTheme and Vistared Little 1.75. nothing. Once the html file gets themed, it stops working, yet it works by itself just fine… It doesn’t seem to call the js or the style.css. Please help.
