Media Gallery forces featured image

    Hi! I have recently upgraded to WordPress 3.5 and am using the lovely free theme TrulyMinimal. When I am inserting a gallery into my post, the first image of that gallery is being taken as the featured image, when I am viewing the overview of the post in the main blog page. When I look at the post settings, featured image is not set. How can I stop the post from automatically taking the first media gallery image as the featured image? Please help!
