  • It looks good.
You should never use .bmp images -they are way too big for human consumption 🙂

Good tip! We changed it to a jpg. Thanks for taking a look!

Fantabulous design… still delving into everything you’ve done here that makes it look like a site & a magazine & a mag archive, not a blog.

One thing I didn’t get is the Flash animation header, it appears to be cobwebs going over that beautiful old staircase? Why would y’all animate spiderwebs over the pic? LOL. It’s subtle grey wavy lines among a light-fixture over the stairs, I can’t think of anything else it would represent – I want to get out the feather-duster.

Very well done! I liked the “spiderwebs”, it added a nice touch!

My only confusion was which articles were from the present issue and which were archived articles. Not sure if that even matters, but I typically can tell when going to a magizine site.

    Again, very well done!

Thank you for the feedback! The spiderwebs (LOL) are a design touch we incorporated to give some movement to the header — it’s in a ‘trial’ mode now – will it stay? Don’t know! FYI – the Flash header has an admin so the client can change out the header image when they publish a new issue.

The articles are all current – it’s a bimonthly and they’ve only released one issue since the site was launched. The old articles will either be tagged for the issue or put in an archive.

Again, thanks for checking it out!

Beautiful site. I agree that the lines in the flash header are unneeded and are actually distracting and using bandwidth unnecessarily.

    I agree on the beauty…

Might I suggest – even though it has been two months – perhaps a more interesting feature for the header image may be one of these:

    1. The hanging lamps draw the eye. How slick would it be for the image to start darker, the lights to flicker then rise to full intensity?

    2. Perhaps movement of the text title – some subtle effect instead of the ‘spider web’.

As a final note, I’m keen to see additional header images, a sort of mini-gallery….

Certainly a site to gauge one’s own work by – congrats!

    what theme is it?

    nice design. Two points:

    1. your markup is not valid.
    2. If you are proud of using WordPress where is the reference to it? You even removed the generator meta tag.
