Hi, love this plugin, but as I’m new to wordpress I’m a little confused.

Is it possible to have a user input a username on the form and then have that username show up as the author on the post itself? I know you can set up a “guest author” user in the admin area and set that as the assigned author in the plugin settings, but can I have the assigned author be the value that the user inputs on the form?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Correct, the plugin enables you to assign an existing author to be used as the author for the submitted posts, but the plugin is not currently set up to create new users based on submitted input names.

One workaround that may help, you can set the plugin options to use the logged-in user’s name as the post author. For example, on one site, I require registration to submit posts, so the user then has an account, logs in, submits a post, and their username is then used as the post author.
