Change template to let function nivo slider in header

Thank you so much for your clear answer. I followed your suggestion and it works. However, now i have another small problem. I want the slider only on my homepage. I added the following code:

I meant: the slider appears only on the homepage but the header image on other pages don’t work?

Thanks for your answer, but it really does’nt work. I pasted the right code on the right place and the show header illustrations in dashboard, appereance, header is turned on.
