• I am using WP as a cms – just static pages. In options I set the static front page to be my page called “home” and the post page to be another page. It defaults to the static home page fine in Firefox, but in Safari it goes right to posts. I have the exact same wordpress site with the same theme (“no limits”) working fine in Safari on another database (both are dreamhost). Any ideas? (The home page has a custom theme applied to it.)

If I type in the direct link to the home page in Safari it does go there:
    http://cyh.dreamhosters.com/?page_id=3

But http://cyh.dreamhosters.com will not default to the static home page in Safari.

    Thanks.

    Tried that several times…

I have the exact same issue.. but with Internet Explorer 7! I have a custom theme so I tried it with the default WP theme and I get the same issue.

My static page (called ‘home’) appears as the home page correctly in Firefox. I then have a page called ‘blog’ which I have set to be the main blog page.

In IE, going to the root of the site shows the ‘blog’ page, not the ‘home’ page.

    I’m using WP v2.2.1.

    Anyone know what’s happening??

I’ve been crawling the forums still on this and one thing that was mentioned (although I’m unsure as to how relevant it was) is that this could be a bug with WP.

Does anyone know if this might be the issue here, and if so, is there a fix available?
