Line Breaks and text wrapping around images (5 posts)

I'm new to Wordpress. I installed it on my host account from my control panel with one click. I selected a theme with a jpg in the header so that I could replace it with my own banner. I know NOTHING about CSS.

I've made 5 entries now, and I have spent over THREE HOURS trying to format (and reformat over and over) my most recent entry. I have 5 images in the post and my text keeps wrapping around my photos despite repeated attempts to add extra line breaks.

I've googled up some support threads and discovered that many people have had trouble with this for almost a year now. I'm begging you for some simplified and effective help. I can't rewrite js files or change lines of code in the CSS. My lines aren't numbered and it's all greek to me anyhow.

    adding <br> turns into <br /> and then doesn't produce a break.
pressing "enter" doesn't insert an extra line
adding a . and then pressing "enter" doesn't help
typing &npsb; 3 times in a row or on different lines doesn't work
I even tried putting a horizontal rule in my entry and that didn't help. Instead it placed the rule NEXT TO a photograph.

I'm at my wits end. I don't understand this. I just want my text above and below my images an for the end of my entry to NOT be next to (but rather above) my previous entry. I want it to look neat and clean, not all jumbled up.

I BEG YOU! PLEASE HELP ME! I'm loosing my mind!
