If you are sure you are using the correct login details, what happens if, after trying to login, you put
http://www.spectorsweb.com/wordpress/wp-admin/post.php
into your browser address bar and try to visit that page ?

I tried that… and still no luck. It say’s there is a CGI error.
CGI error is strange. As far as I know, wp should not return such an error, so it sounds like a host problem.
If you were using 1.2, then for php5 you are best upgrading to 1.3.
I have the SAME EXACT problem!
Finally, I found some common ground…
pengs, did you upgrade yet?

im having this same error.
my page is located at http://matthewr85.freeserverhost.net/index.php
but if you try to go here http://matthewr85.freeserverhost.net/ , it does not work and shows the apache file structure.
in addition to that annoying error, i have wordpress installed to http://matthewr85.freeserverhost.net/wp/ , and my blog set at http://matthewr85.freeserverhost.net . when i try to login from %root%/index.php, i get this page: http://matthewr85.freeserverhost.net/wp/wp-login.php
check the address bar, everything seems to be where it needs to be doesnt it?
the weird thing is, it only started doing this last night.
