• Hi folks,

Is there a plugin out there which extends the visual editors’ link functionality by adding a drop-down list of all the internal pages of the site?

Essentially I’d like to be able to select some text in a post/page, hit the link button in the editor, then choose an internal page to link to from a drop-down list.

Seems like it’s the kind of thing that’s been done/thought of.

    Thanks in advance.

  • No. We don’t quote ourselves that much… 🙂

    Very funny moshu 🙂

I should’ve clarified that I need this functionality as I’m using WordPress as a CMS. Lots of pages, and in some cases no blog at all. So there is a real need to be able to link internally.

    Know what I’m sayin’?

    😉

    Check out WP-Page-Linker .

One caution: this plugin inserts the current URL of whatever page you’re linking to, but it won’t dynamically update it if the URL of linked-to page changes. Say you are in Page A and you add a link to Page B. If you ever change the URL of Page B (via the page slug option), you’ll have to go back into Page A and update that link.

Thanks LK – sounds perfect for what I need.

    Cheers!

A bit of shameless promotion but I think my plugin does something very similar but doesn’t insert the actual url, just the ID of the post, the permalink is generated by wordpress on display.

Its called RB Internal Links, comments and improvements welcome.
