    I’m guessing it’s a javascript problem.

    I’m using Dominion 1.6 Gantry 1.29 and WordPress 3.5

After I updated the theme, gantry and wordpress my all gantry settings were lost. Luckily I was able to restore from a backup.

Then I went on attempting to make some updates, add aditional widgets and change the layout. At first I thought that only the widget panel for Overrides was broken. Somehow I managed to fix this, I fiddled with everything for a few days and finally got the widgets to work again.

Then I went to change the layout of a section and found that this tab was broken as well.

Then I thought, oh to hell with this theme, I’ll try another. But any other rocket theme I tried to use would only bring up a white screen with:

    >

I tried creating another test site from scratch (twice) and it didn’t matter. I had the same problem.

I’ve updated to 3.0 and my site went completely down with the error:

    Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://alikat.ca/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
    Here are some suggestions:
    Reload this webpage later.
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

So I guess I’ll just go back to 1.29 and wait for another update.
Even though I can’t really use my site, at least it won’t be completely down.

    Hi,

I’m very sorry to hear about your site issues. Are you sure that the whole updating procedure went fine and there was no bad data uploaded ? Can you also please tell me what’s your PHP memory limit ?

    Thank you,

I just did a fresh re-install on a subdomain and although I wasn’t experiencing the server error, the layout tab in the gantry settings still has the same issue.

I’m giving up for a little bit. I restored my site from a previous back up and I’ll just wait before I make any major updates to the layout. Or, I’ll redesign it when I have some time.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Oh I forgot to answer you: my PHP memory limit is 128M

Could this have something to do with it? Should I increase it?

I also installed a rockettheme with rocket launcher, then updated wordpress, then updated Gantry and I was able to recreate the same issue I’ve been having with the layout tab not saving the settings.

before the update I went to the back panel to ensure layouts were working correctly, and they were.

Thanks for any insight you have about this.

    Hi again,

Would you mind enabling debug mode and contacting me at jakub@rockettheme.com with your website address so I could see what might be going there ? Access to the PHP logs and WP admin would be great – please consider that.

    Thanks,
    Jakub

    Hi,

Please try updating your site to Gantry 1.31 and see if it fixes your issue.

    Thanks,

Hi, no it broke my site again. I’ll email you FTP access and user accounts so you can see what is going on when you have time.

First I have to revert back to 1.28 though.

    Thanks,
    Ali

I Have tried, updating with version 1.31 and got the same problem, For me it was only solved reinstalling version 1.29 again, but all my setting are gone, so now I’m fixing everything πŸ™

    I’m using Rocket Theme Momentum…..
And now every page appears empty, all the content is there… but, for me it was a bad choice trying to update.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Do you have the Gantry Cache enabled on your sites ? Did you try to resave theme options after update to 1.31 ? Did you cleaned your browser/site cache ? Please send me your login credentials and I’ll try to locate what can cause the issue. Please also remember to do the full backup of your site and database.

    Thanks,
    Jakub

I’ve had the cache turned on and off – I’ve emptied, uninstalled caching plugins, reset my .htaccess, plugin folders. I even started a new site, but the problem was on it too. – downgraded my php version. downgraded my wordpress to 3.4.2 – and i was surprised the problem was still there.

I’ve done just about everything I can imagine or think of doing.

I’ve sent you logins for FTP and my site.
Also, just so you know, i don’t use all of the plugins I have installed, I just haven’t deleted them yet.

I have done a full backup of site and database before I upgraded from gantry 1.28 to 1.31

    thanks again!

Same happened to me. Updated to 1.31 and my default settings, widgets were wiped out. Also the “Gantry Settings” area within the themes tab completely vanished as well. Did not have Gantry Cache enabled yet and did clear browser cache.

Had a backup so went back to 1.29 and reinstalled database which restored everything.

Will follow this thread as I am curious to know the cause as well as learn when it is safe to update.

Thanks to the Jakub from Rocket Themes! The 1.31 Gantry update seems to have fixed all the issues I was having.

    I’m glad it worked πŸ™‚

dg_baines – please try resaving your theme settings.

Well tried the update again, default widgets etc. didn’t disappear this time but once again the whole “Gantry Settings” section is gone even for all my overrides. Meaning no color settings, font setting etc. Widgets settings still there though.

Going back to 1.29 for now. Thanks for the reply.
