Catogories not working

I am having some serious problems with my categories, namely that I can’t create any. Every time I try to add a category while writing a post nothing happens. Same when I go to the “Manage” tab and try to add one that way. My sites at and this is really impeding my ability to do things, so any help would be much appreciated.
