I installed this plugin, and linked it up to my Google Drive account. But as posted elsewhere, it wouldn’t let me authenticate the account. I clicked on the ‘Aunthenticate’ button a couple times, but nothing changed. That’s cool, I get that this is a work in progress.

But the problem I’m having is that it still created the backups on my webspace, but under another ‘owner’. I can’t delete them, move them, or do anything with them. They are all created with the User/Group: 99 99.

I tried to access it via SSH in cPanel and change ownership via CHOWN, but it didn’t work. Spent the last 7 hours scouring the net for other options, and I can’t seem to get these files to change ownership.

Please help me get these files off. They are about 600 megabytes each.

    Hi,

Sorry for the slow reply. It seems the WordPress forum isn’t auto-alerting me of posts unless you put the word “UpdraftPlus” in them.

On the authentication, I will take a look – I was waiting for anyone to say if it was still an issue or not (I’m not having a problem).

Your other problem is a web hosting issue, not in the plugin’s or my power to do anything about. UpdraftPlus just runs as your regular PHP user, and creates files under that user. If your web hosting provider is giving you FTP access with insufficient privilege to delete those files, then you need to talk to their support line – it’s not in my power.

    David
