• This is my first website design attempt. I thought I was going crazy because I wrote pages and published them but my domain showed a “Site is Under Development” page. I could view the pages at domain/pagename/ though. I found out the problem is that I have no files under my domain root directory. I did a one-step install of WordPress through my host. Did I do something completely wrong and how do I fix it please? Do I backup the WP files to my computer then upload the WP index.php to the domain root directory? Thank you, thank you, thank you!

aglawmn.com pages can be viewed at aglawmn.com/home/ etc

    Thanks

it looks like you can fix this a couple of ways.

The easiest of which might be to change the Site Address (URL) setting on the General Settings page to aglawmn.com/home/

The second thing would be to simply move everything from /home up a directory to the root level. However with some hosts’ 1-click installers this could cause problems. You would need to run a search and replace of the old (/home) url to the new url (without the/home) though.

If you go this route, be sure to backup your database before you start, then back it up again.
