where is static front page?

    I am new to wordpress, and trying to create a static frontpage but it doesn’t show up as an option in my reading sub-panel in options. Where do I find this?

    If you don’t see it via Administration > Options > Reading then you are using an older version of WordPress (<2.1) or your installation/upgrade may not be complete.

    I also cant find this option. Im sure it was in the options->reading section when I was using 2.1 since I upgraded to 2.2.3 I cant find it!
    Anyone know where it is in 2.2.3? Really want to setup my static frontpage.

    I had this problem on two of my four 2.2.3 installations. Fretted over this for quite some time.

    This worked for me: delete all pages (you can back these up by copying and pasting the text to an external file). Create new pages (copy and paste the content you have backed up).
