• There are a few areas where WordPress still falls short as a CMS – one such area is media management. While WordPress 3.5 makes some fantastic strides in the right direction, it still lacks the ability to quickly and easily replace media files.

If you have art, file, or media assets that need to be swapped out from time to time, Enable Media Replace should be a critical part of your default WordPress kit. Here’s some sample uses:

    1. You have PDFs that need to periodically updated (such as loan rates). You can simply use the replace functionality, and you’re done. Without this plugin, you would need to upload a new file, update all your links, and then delete the old one.

    2. You have art assets that occasionally need to be updated. This might include little bits of advertising or corner-badges that change frequently and never need to be reused.

This frees you from having to use FTP to replace files, frees you from having to hunt down and change links, and allows you to do more right inside WordPress.
