Posted 4 years ago #No I don't. I think the templates work fine as they are, in the same way that the default template works. Most people will use them as a basis and adapt them. Along the way, they will learn something about CSS and such.

Posted 4 years ago #Weren't those templates under the GPL? So anyone can redistribute them, it doesn't matter what the author says or what the developers think about them. Good way to get more hits to your site anyway, wish I'd thought of it first.

Traffic shouldn't be about 'conning' people to go to your site. You should offer quality content that makes people want to come to your site... but that's just my 0.02.

Moose-baiting didn't work, huh? ;-) Anyhoo, whatever happened to the latin for "moose candy" you used to have up on your site? I went looking for it the other day because I met someone who makes gifts from moose droppings in acrylic. (sorry about changing the subject - it is only temporary)

As I recall, Vevsusius is similar to Trident but I don't have a copy to confirm that with. If anybody does have a copy; I'm willing to mirror it.

Those seem to be very clean styles, ready for people to modify as needed. I bet they would be rather uncomplicated to work with, too. Thanks for providing links.
I've always thought that it was more important to provide a clean template that provides basic layout that validates as XHTML as part of an install, than one that intimidates the user with it's complexity and awe inspiring beauty.
Because beauty, awe inspiring or not, is in the eye of the beholder. -
Please note that neither of the screenshots posted above are in fact screen shots of installed Gemini or Trident. Beware of imitations.

Posted 4 years ago #I am confused by reference to them as "imitations." I downloaded them straight from the links that NM offered and installed them. In fact, Gemini is still up at http://cmsstyles.com/test/wp/.
Are these not the styles in question? -

Yes it does. I was starting off wordlog after gemini came out and I wanted to give it a shot. I have installed other styles and themes too, on other blogs, going with whichever I haven't used before, so I know first-hand how things work. I don't think any one of the styles or designs is the best. I am not too hot on design, either, which is probably not a good thing, and I hope to become a better designer someday. -
