I haven’t worked on my site for a little while and now when I go to the admin sign in page I see the following error mesage at the top of the screen. (Everything was fine about a week ago) Any ideas?

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/****/public_html/wp-content/plugins/technotags.php:204) in /home/****/public_html/wp-login.php on line 12

If that’s not enough, I sign in but don’t see the admin backend, but I see 3 added error messages:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/****/public_html/wp-content/plugins/technotags.php:204) in /home/****/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 313

Sounds like something happened to some of the WordPress files on your web-site. Might be a good time to upgrade since you’ll probably be reuploading files.

Michael – Thanx for the reply but I do have the latest version uploaded.

Okay it looks like you can login. Maybe login and deactive the plugin related to technotags and see if you still get same error after you log out.

Sound’s like something’s wrong with that plugin.

Please note it seems your site is at 2.1.2 (not 2.1.3 – the latest).

Sorry Michael – I thought that was the latest… I’ll upgrade as soon as I can.

But when I do login the only thing that appears on the screen are the error messages and none of the backend stuff.

Since I can’t get into the admin backend AND assuming the problem is with the technotags plugin… can I simply remove the plugin through my ftp client without disabling it first to see if that clears up the problem?

    Hello everybody.

I have the same (maybe similar, I don’t know) problem. I upgraded from version 2.0 to 2.1.3.

    I stopped all plugins.
I deleted all recomeded files and wp-config.php stayed original.
I copied all files from install pack and replaced old files when it was need.
I started /wp-admin/upgrade.php and all looks OK.

I check both of my “wp-config.php” and “wp-login.php” files for blank lines either before the “<?php” opening or after the “?>” closing tags. – The same.

Permissions on wp-includes are 755. I tried changed them to 777, no success.

I tried delete all folder with plugins. – The same.

I don’t have any idea for next step.

Can you try help me please?

Well – I resolved my problem.

I went into my ftp and deleted the “technotags.php plugin to see if I would have access to the admin section. It worked.

I then looked at the plugin and saw a space after each and every line and the original plugin had no such spaces. Well, I took out all the spaces and reloaded the plugin and now all is working perfectly.

I didn’t think the spaces would make a differences nor do I actually know how they came to be in the first place. In any case it’s fixed.

JIRIK – I don’t know if that helps with your problem or not… I hope so.

    Thank you for your reply.
But it didn’t help me. I checked all spaces in all plugins, I tried to delete all plugins from plugins directory. It’s all the same.
I’m going to find new versions of all plugins and … next step is maybe return to the previous version. It is not the newest but it is working corectly.
