Just upgraded to the latest release of WP and am getting errors out the ying yang, dependent on what theme I am using. The default theme is the only one which seems error free.

Using the theme I had originally, I receive this error which blanks most of the page
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_list_cats() in /home/fronter/public_html/mexicoverdad/wp-content/themes/wp-magapress/sidebar.php on line 13

Or this in a different theme
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_list_cats() in /home/fronter/public_html/mexicoverdad/wp-content/themes/kiwicanvas/plugins/wp_list_cats.php on line 7

And still in a third theme this comes up

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_archives() in /home/fronter/public_html/mexicoverdad/wp-content/themes/News Time/sidebar.php on line 18

Could someone point me to the problem? If I know what I am looking at, then I can probably fix it.

In the newest version 2.1 wp_list_cats has been been renamed and your theme will need to be reworked. You can refer to the this page for more help. Also look at the same page for the get_archives() tag.

You might check to see if there is an up-to-date version of your theme or make the changes to use the template tag, wp_list_categories, instead of wp_list_cats.
