Duplicate posts appearing (13 posts)

    Hi folks,
I've recently started using Wordpress on my own site, and I've found that I'm getting duplicate entries in my blog. If I post an article, its fine...just the one copy. If I edit it, a "phantom" copy is created, as you can see in my feed, here:- http://www.rewiredmind.com/feed/atom/

On my site (www.rewiredmind.com), the duplicate content doesn't show on the main page, but shows on author pages. So here, you'll see it again:- http://www.rewiredmind.com/author/kmxretro/

I've checked in the DB, and there is only one entry for each of the duplicated stories in wp_posts.

I can't work out what could be causing this. I had a feeling it might have been something to do with Ultimate Tag Warrior, but I disabled that and the same thing occurred. Can anyone help or has anyone else seen this?

I have the same sort of problem. If I go to "Manage pages", I have several copies of the same pages, all with the same ID. When I look in the database, there's only one of each.

I did have the same with some posts appearing twice, but editing and saving the posts cleared the issue there, but this doesn't work with pages.

    Help!

I solved my problem. It was a clash with a plugin - MiniPost2, to do sidebar "Asides". Active, and I get duplicate posts on the main page, and missing pages on the "manage" admin page. Disabled, and all is perfect.

    Whee :)

    I have the same problem.
    http://surfboard-reviews.com/

I did an export from my free wordpress hosted blog and then imported the file to my own site which I installed the newest version of wordpress to (2.3.1).
I have doubles of my posts down at the bottom.

If I delete one, then it also deletes it's original up at the top. Any ideas?
I only have Anarchy media player, and kimili flash embed plugins....aside from the akismet.

    Help please?!

Please advise if anyone understands why duplicate posts appear of each post I put onto my site.
    Thanks!

What happens if you switch to the default or classic theme?

(oh, and make that frontpage shorter - nobody is willing to take a look at so much code...)

the reason I have the front page so long is because the site is designed to be a testimonials page and we want all of the testimonials displayed one page together.

I am using v 2.3.1 and am also having duplicated posts issues. It only happens if I need to edit the post. It usually creates two more identical entries. If I delete those additional entries under "manage", then all of my entries disappear including the original post.

Has anyone else reported a plugin causing this? It only started when I upgraded to 2.3.1 (waiting on my host to provide the newest version) and I haven't changed any plugins.

    Thoughts? TIA
    M.

Has this issue been resolved and I don't know about it? I'd like to get it fixed soon. I have 6 duplicated posts on the front of my blog now and I'm tired of my mother emailing me about it. =D

Well seeing as I never did get any reply or suggestions, I did go ahead and switch to default theme and back again. That at least got rid of the duplicated entries showing up. Although it doesn't fix the problem. Hopefully with the next update, it'll fix itself.

Hopefully with the next update, it'll fix itself.

    That's very unlikely.

When using the Default theme, did the problem still present itself?

How about after you disable all plugins?

    Be bold -- experiment!

it still does it after i use the default theme. I tried the addition of the code :
    if ($post_name_check || in_array($post_name, $wp_rewrite->feeds) ) {
    return 0;
Didn't do anything to remove the current duplicate posts. Perhaps it will prevent more..but how in the world does one remove the duplicate posts. There are no duplicate posts listed in my phpMyAdmin. There is only one of each. same with wp admin interface.
I don't know what is causing the dups. I updated to newest wp 2.5
I deactivated all plugins. I went to default theme. Still duplicates.
    HELP!

    Hi charissaproctor

Your problem seems to be fixed, how did you manage to return to a normal state? Thanks, I have the same problem but can't figure it out! O_o
