Password for redirecting a user to a password protected page. a page

    Instead of looking through all of the login plugins I am going to ask if someone can point me in the right direction.

    What I want to do is have a page that asks for a password and as a result of entering the correct password the person is redirected to the correct page and since the page is password protected I need to pass on the password.

    If I can do this without a plugin all the better, but I am not a php programmer (I do program in Basic and JavaScript and I consider myself not an expert but very good with HTML and CSS).

    Any help you can give me will be appreciated.
