You probably have coding errors – but without seeing the site, no way to be much specific help.

Sorry – should have included that: PitcherAndPlate.com
You have an <em>
element wrapping your sidebar.
Unfortunately, you have a whole lot of mark-up errors — most of which are likely in your content:
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fpitcherandplate.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
I think the italics is due to <em>
tags affecting the sidebars because of misplaced div tags, but I could not sort out exactly where. You’ll need to start going through the content and fixing the problems…looks like I lot, but once you get the hang of it, it’s not that bad.

I’m not very tech savvy and I don’t know what to do about an element wrapping my sidebar. Can you direct me? Thank you.
Look at the error on line 659 of the validator results — that’s likely where the problem is. But you should still fix the other errors :).

Wow, I really don’t know what all of those mean……but it did help me to recognize one problem, which I corrected, and now things look ok. So thank you for that! I would like to know how I’d go about fixing all of the things listed, but I don’t know what tags are ir div tags are.
