• Hello.
I have WordPress 1.2 and the following options selected in Options/Discussion :
    – Email me whenever: A comment is approved or declined
    – Before a comment appears: An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below) and User must fill out name and email
    – Comment Moderation : Hold a comment in the queue if it contains more than 5 links, and a list of common SPAM words
And with all that, the moderation does not seem to work properly for me. Therefore I still have comments with more than 5 links about casinos and so on…
The only case where comments get into the moderation area is when I make pingbacks on my own posts !!! I need to confirm that pingbacks from my posts (about my blog) are not spam ! :-)))
Does anyone can help ? Thanks.

  • Do you have the ‘spam words’ complete ?
If not, complete it, and be sure not to have a blank line in there.

I made tests with only one word (casino), but I can still post comments with this f… word ! :o)
Do you understand why it only retains comments that are my own internal pingbacks ? And the fact that “more than 5 links” criteria is not taken into account ?
