• I am having trouble with a twenty eleven child theme. I have a static page set as the home page with another page set for the blog. Any changes I make to the footer.php files are only taking effect on the home page. I have changed the “proudly powered by wordpress” line in the site generator in the footer.php file and added some additional links below the page with the Header and Footer plugin. Both show properly on the homepage but the site generator area reverts to the way it was and the links added via plugin do not appear on the other pages.
    The site is http://www.thesoaphag.com.

The twenty eleven child theme I have done for http://www.neatnestorganizing.com is working properly. As far as I know I have done both the same way but one is working and one is not.

Thanks so much for your help!

  • Did you make a copy of the footer.php file and put that in your child theme file and make the changes there?

It looks like your child theme is not really set up correctly — the child theme style.css file should only have the changed CSS code in it, not a copy of the entire style.css file…

I did copy the footer.php file into my childs theme. This was my first attempt at a childs theme, though. So I still put too much in the stylesheet? What it there is all the areas where I made the changes. What is there that should not be there?

Ok. I went through and took out what I thought was unnecessary in the stylesheet and ended up eliminating the site generator. Now I just need the plugin to show on all the pages not just the homepage.
Thank you WPyogi. Any other suggestions are appreciated!
