• Has someone already made something to import from a Pivot blog (doesn’t use a DB) to WordPress ? I really want to change to WP but don’t really know how to convert.
What layout should my import file have if I want to import it to WordPress ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • This question has been asked a few times here, but I’ve not yet seen any definitive answer.
WP can import RSS files, so if you could get Pivot to export all your entries / comments in that format, it should not be a problem. Not using Pivot, I don’t know if it does that, but a search here says that it does an xml file.
Are there any hacks / plugins for Pivot that will allow such an export ?

Hi Kysbruden, if you are really interested, and are willing to let me play, I can help figure out how best to do it 🙂 Get in touch with me at

I don’t have a Pivot blog and cannot hope to create one and fill it with dummy data just to create the exporter and hence the request.

    Hej
Thanks for both of the answers.
I’ll contact you by mail, because I really am interested, and it probably could help some other people too if we got it solved.
I can install a pivot blog (with content) we can use for testing it.
And yes Pivot does have an rss file, but only of the last x posts. Problem is that Pivot does not have an export option, only an import option. But I already made a small php script that can extract the posts and comments, I just need to know how I get that into the WP database.

is there an solution for this problem?
i also want to convert my pivot to wordpress

    Anon,
My offer stands. Maybe you can try editing pivot’s source code or options so it gives you an rss feed with all the posts in it.
