I uploaded the Coolplayer pluging and the the local files for the rpc server but it still won’t display in my blog. I activated the plugin and the button even shows in my rich text editor or regular editor but when I put the Coolplayer tage and then input a link and then close the tag nothing happens. It seems so simple why won’t it work for me? Is anyone else having problems with this plugin? Not sure if this is related but the extreme video plugin wouldn’t work for me either once I activated it. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks

Hi – yes I’m having problems too with Coolplayer, I’ve posted about it as well (a few posts earlier). I’ve been using it no problem for a month or two, but it suddenly stopped functioning yesterday. There seems to be a problem with the plugin provider http://www.coolcode.cn – when I test the Coolplayer plugin in Dashboard Options it reports: RPC Server is invalid.

are you using this as the path to the rpc server?

    http://coolcode.cn/wp-content/plugins/coolplayer/rpc.php

I got that right out of google, and its doing something.

I just looked and that looks to be the default setting inside the config (atleast of the latest version). I actually cant tell if its doing anything, but he does have a zip there with the files necessary to host your own (assuming your host meets the requirements)

Yes, that’s the path I used to the RPC server. It started to work again for a brief period this morning, but now it’s not.

welp youre relying on another sites ability to handle traffic, and their uptime. like I said above,
“but he does have a zip there with the files necessary to host your own (assuming your host meets the requirements)”

if youre having trouble, you might need to look at doing that. its nice he even makes that available for ppl so it would come as no surprise that their might be performance issues. Im guessing he doesnt have google’s bandwidth after all.

Thanks for the advice, whooami. Sounds like that’s the way I need to go (hope I can manage it).

Ok but mr originator is still having a problem …lol. I uploaded the files to have the server on my own site. I then went to the options for the plugin and on the screen it allows you to test. I put in the fool path to my rpc.php file and hit test. It says server is valid and that I’m using version 9.3. That seems great though I noticed that even after I do that if I hit save it doesn’t show what I just saved in the fields. I don’t know if it should do that or it means that it didn’t actually save but in any case that much seems fine.

When I go to my posting windown I see the button for multimedia and I put links in there but still don’t see any player. Besides uploaded the files to your plugin directory are there and activating are there any other files or steps that need to be taken for this thing to work? Am I leaving something out?

When I hit save all I see is an empty square in the preview area so I don’t even bother to ‘Publish’ the post.

For instance for those who have it working does the following produce anything in your blog?:

    [coolplayer width=”420″ height=”360″ autoplay=”false” loop=”false” download=”show”]
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZipRAsT0sk
    [/coolplayer]

This is what I was using to try and make a test post. Thanks for any help

I just tried again and I using the above and I get the same square but it does say:

    Loading…
    Wait a moment, please!

Not sure if that’s progress or not or what it means

Hey what happened to all my coolplayer experts? I’m still stuck in “No-multimedia land”. Any suggestions? Thanks

I just realized somehow the post got changed to “Not a support question”. In either case I just changed it back. Can anyone help or offer suggestions about getting this coolplayer plugin to work? I’m still blowing in the wind here though others have responded to the thread. I think I’ve posted all the info one might need above but if anyone needs any more info to help me troubleshoot just ask and I’ll get right back. Thanks

    hi theplayahata

Here’s an e.g. of the code Coolplayer produces in my blog, which is working fine now:

    [coolplayer width=”320″ height=”182″ autoplay=”0″ loop=”0″ charset=”GBK” download=”1″ mediatype=””]
    movie title
    [/coolplayer]

    (@theplayahata)

darn it.. that’s almost identical to mine. I even took that post and put it in my blog simple switching the link and it says the same thing about loading please wait? Did you make any other modifications to the coolplayer files? I uploaded version 9.3. I tried going to the site but I can’t read it … most of the text comes up as those rectangles you sometime get when it can’t make sense out of font.. I think it may be in another language.
But anyway I even uploaded the other files so i could run the server locally and changed the path in one file. Do i need to edit something else when I go under the “Plugin Editor” option in WordPress? I see at least 2 relative paths in the file … one says
    “var $pluginpath = “/wp-content/plugins/coolplayer”;”
another a few lines later says:
    “load_plugin_textdomain(‘coolplayer’, ‘wp-content/plugins/coolplayer’);”

do i need to change those? The full path to my plugin files for coolplayer would be “http://playahata.com/hatablog/wp-content/plugins/coolplayer/”. It even says the server is valid when I ran the test… I just don’t get why this thing won’t work for me…

    Thread Starter theplayahata

    (@theplayahata)

Also once i activate the plugin and go to options I see a button for coolplayer. When I select a window comes up and none of the fields are pre-populated should they be if this is working correctly? I have put in values in the past and saved them but whenever I go to this page is starts empty. When I put the full path to the rpc.php file I uploaded and hit test is says:
    RPC Server is valid.
    RPC Server version is 9.30

Hey crissxross or someone comeback… please :-} I still don’t have this thing fixed. Any suggestions anyone?

Im having the same problem, it just says loading…. I cant see the player or anything, anyone have any suggestions, my rpc server is valid and I activated it in the plugins.

for what it is worth, mine is working fine with one exception with no interuptions for 3-4 weeks. however, when in the write/edit mode i have lost (for some time) the coolplayer button = i have to manually paste/write the code into the post. i am not technical enough to go any deeper on this one, sorry.

    and i don’t know if this has changed since whooami said there was a zip sitting at this address = http://www.coolcode.cn/wp-content/plugins/coolplayer/rpc.php because this is all that i get and it makes no sense to me = phprpc_functions=”YToyOntpOjA7czoxMDoicGxheV9tZWRpYSI7aToxO3M6MjI6ImNvb2xwbGF5ZXJfcnBjX3ZlcnNpb24iO30=”;
