    Hello,

I saw the update for Ultimate TinyMCE today and updated as normal but it creates a conflict with bbpress. When I updated the plugin all my forum admin tools disappear as well one of the forums. When I disable the plugin all my admin forums menu appear as well as the missing forum.

    Thanks

    Okay…

Can you give me some more to go on here? Are there any messages or notices generated anywhere?

You can always grab a prior release from the repo here:

Did the plugin work prior to the update?

No apparent error messages generate just visual signs after I google what was going on. It was suggested it could be a plugin and I had just updated your plugin. I disable it and everything went back to normal.

Other plugins I have installed are bbPress, bbPress Like Button, Duplicator, Global Hide/Remove Admin Bar Plugin, Theme My Login, and User Meta.

bbpress creates a small admin menu for forums, topics and replies it just hides when I enable version 3.7 of your plugin and it shows back up when I deactivate it.

Private forum also disappeared when enable. Trying to access the forum via permalink just returned a 404.

Thanks, I like your plugin. Will definitely use previous version.

Did the plugin work prior to the update?

Yes, it worked fine no problem. At least admin wise for the users it wasn’t available. There is a work around to enable it for the users but I haven’t go to it yet since the site is new.

I hope it helps. Thanks for your reply.

    No no… thanks for posting.

I’ll take a closer look at this over the next couple days and see what the differences are between the two versions… and possibly identify a source of the conflict.

    Hello,

Just wanted to let you know version 3.8 fixes the issue I had on my forum.

I have another problem which is explained here:

    http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/no-more-ultimate-tinymce-buttons-in-fancy-editor-after-latest-2-2-update/

It is not the initial problem but maybe you can chime in or if you want I can make a new thread.

Basically, your plugin should be able to be used as an editor but it doesn’t happen after the modifications suggested on the thread posted.

    Thanks

    Hello,

I’m sorry to inform you the initial bug that I reported still exists in version 3.8 but at a low user level. Admins, Editors, etc. can see all the forums but subscribers, contributors, will not see the private forums and will get a 404 error if trying to access the forum directly.

    Thanks.

Okay… give 3.9 a try and see if it still conflicts.

How do you have the private forums set up? Are they Open or Closed? Is the visibility set to Private? Is there a parent forum?

I’m trying to set up the same conditions you have, but it’s all working for me. I’ve tried it from the admin level to the subscriber level and it all works like it should.

What “small admin menu” are you referring to? If you are referring to: “Edit | Close | Stick (to front) | Merge | Trash | Spam”, they are all there. They’re faint but they are there.

I’m using the latest version of WP 3.5. Latest version of bbPress. And the latest version of Ultimate TinyMCE 3.9.

If everything is working for you, (and I hope it is), please mark this as resolved.

    Hello Josh,

I thought I would continue on this thread instead of creating new one, because it is related to Ultimate TinyMCE and bbPress.

Thank you for making inline attachment possible with your plugin. But, it order to attach a registered user must have wordpress role as “editor.” Anything less, the attached image does not show up (rejected). I would like the registered user as Subscriber/Participant, respectively. And under these conditions you cannot attach/insert image using Ultimate TinyMCE

Is this a wordpress issue or the plugin issue? I cannot find out.

Oh by the way, if you turn on “Auto-embed links” from forum settings, the popup dialogue for inserting image/video buttons from Ultimate TinyMCE does not work under Internet Explorer 9. (I thought I would share in case someone is confused as I was…for days)

    Okay….

Honestly, I have no experience with BBPress. Perhaps you can use my contact form and we can discuss this via email.

Apparently, I’m going to need to have access to (or create) a testing environment with BBPress and WordPress and Ultimate Tinymce.

So, here is a link to my contact form:

We can move forward from there.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, I had a cold and was unable to reply. Let me update my current setup, answer questions and provide visual bugs.

I’m using WP 3.5, BBpress 2.2.3, Ultimate TinyMCE 3.9. as well as the plugins mention initially (bbPress Like Button, Duplicator, Global Hide/Remove Admin Bar Plugin, Theme My Login, and User Meta).

How do you have the private forums set up? Are they Open or Closed?

    They are open.

Is the visibility set to Private?

    Yes.

    Is there a parent forum?

Two forums, both are parent forums with no child.

I’ve tried it from the admin level to the subscriber level and it all works like it should.

Unfortunately, only Admin level works for me at this time. All other levels are unable to see the private forum at this time.

What “small admin menu” are you referring to?

This menu at the beginning was not visible. But it is not the case anymore for version 3.9.

    Bug discovery:

The bug was notified to me by the users as they were not able to post on the private forums since it could not be found. As an admin I guide my users through normal troubleshooting (ie password reset, cache flush, cookie removal, etc.). Then I pull my hair guessing where the issue lies but as admin I was not able to see it. So, I created a user which I granted forum access. Alas, 404 error again the forum was not visible to the user unless he was an Admin. I try changing the theme same issue the private forum was not visible. So, it hit me it could be your plugin. Sadly, once disable the plugin the private forum was once again visible to all registered members.

On a positive note: The toolbar works on most or all Twenty (10, 11, and 12) Themes if memory serves right but I’m unsure. I do remember being happy about that in particularly.

Unfortunately, I can’t provide a more technical insight but I think Ckone seems to have a better idea and mentions details I have read before in other posts.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I been testing the recent updates you have done but still unable to use your plugin.

Also, I have notice when I visit a forum I get this error:

    You cannot create new topics.

And when I visit a topis I get the following error:

You cannot reply to this topic.

This only happens to participant forum user set as a subscriber whe your plugin is enable.

    Thanks.

Would you mind giving me some access to your site? Set me up with an account where I can visually see what’s going on?

If you don’t mind.. use my contact form mentioned above.

    (@lemoreno)

    Sure,

I’ll do one better I’ll set you up on a backup server so you can test more freely. I just made a recent backup just give me a bit of time.

I think I found a fix. I was working on another issue:

    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/likes-dont-register-either?replies=10#post-3731892

    and someone suggested:

i deleted the plugin from my site, reinstalled it again using the updated archive and now it’s working.

I did that for your plugin and it works! At least for how I was testing it: create a low level user in order to test if they see all the forums and the editor.

I know you been busy but when you can test it on the backup site and see if it works.

Visually it seems to work I haven’t fully test it. One thing I tested was the emoticons “More Popos” Regular users don’t seem to be able to post them but Admins can post them with out issues.

    Thanks!
