I am new to WordPress, and this is probably a very basic question...
In short: I installed the Simple Tagging plug-in, imported my posts, converted categories to tags, and now have a tag cloud that shows "uncategorized" at maximum size and every other at minimum size...
This happened because I have 2,600+ posts imported from Blogger (which means that my old labels were imported as categories), and the earlier posts (ca. 1,300) did not have labels, so were imported as "uncategorized".
It seems that the Simple Tagging cloud shows a combination of categories and tags. This means that with over 1,000 posts in the "uncategorized" category, and less than 100 for the next largest category or tag, the tag cloud is not much of a cloud anymore...
The only solution I can see right now is to go back and create categories and tags for the 1,300 posts that currently have neither (apart from the "uncategorized" category)... Just time alone is a sufficient reason for me to not do that.
Is there another way around this? For instance, is there a way to have posts not attached to any category at all? (Not even the "uncategorized" one.) Or can Simple Tagging be set up to only show tags in the tag cloud? (I removed the "uncategorized" tag.) Or are there changes in the template I can make to show only tags?
(I plan to prune the categories down to 20 or so, and use tags as I used labels in Blogger, but this will not take care of the problem.)
Since this post is specifically about Simple Tagging, I tried to ask this question in the comments section, but it seems that comments are disabled, so I am trying here instead.
