Support » Fixing WordPress » site map submission to Google, making sub domain the main domain for site

  • Hi

The domain for my website has changed to a subdomain as this was the only way to set up the SSL with my hosting company. For example the site was example.com and is now https://secure.example.com Kind of like it like this as it makes it clear to the user that it is a secure site. The has all been changed & updated in general setting on WordPress as well.

Should I submit a new site map under a new domain named https://secure.example.com? Or will the Google bots understand what has happened.

Will this take away the power of external links we had pointing to a example.com domain? Any url request is re-directed to https://secure.example.com so the links still work okay.

    Thanks

    Dean
