I recently visited a site with two small boxes on the upper right with + and - sign which allowed the visitor to make the overall font larger or smaller. Does anyone know what this feature might be?

You can use a plugin like this or use a javascript in the header or even a php script for fontsize change (you can add PHP Code Snippets in the templates with this plugin )
