Hello all! I know you all work very hard to help us all out with issues so i will try to outline this as best as possible.

I had wordpress 2.0.5 and had widgetized a theme. After installing widgets it worked correctly and I tried it out by dragging “Recent Posts” – so far everything cool.

This worked well for about 2 weeks (I never touched the widgets again since I was still working on the themes images) and then tonight when I went and uploaded and drug another widget (Paypal Donate) when I hit “save changes” my widget box reverted to empty with the default sidebar message.

Since then no matter what I do it does that exact same thing.

Here is some (what I can remember) of what I have tried:

    Deleting the Paypal widget
Deleting all but the default widget – widgets
Upgrading to wordpress 2.1.2 and installing widgets for 2.1+
    Removing scriptalicious
    Re-uploading scriptalicious to wp-includes/js
Uploading scriptalicious to the widgets file (I was getting desperate by this point – I know the 2.1+ doesn’t need it, but like I said…desperate)
Changing My wp-includes access to make everything writable
Changing to the classic theme (including the widgetized classic functions.php)
Changing to various other widget-ready themes
    Re-upoading the widgets.php numerous times

That’s all I can remember for now. I know my functions.php and sidebar.php are cool, because it was at least at one point working. I also tried numerous other widgetized themes and they all load the widget interface fine, but revert on “save changes”.

Any ideas or info anyone has would be so incredibly appreciated as I am a total widget addict lol.

    Thank you so much! =)

P.S. If there is a post where this is already answered – my sincerest apologies and please point me toword it. I did search through over 50+ posts but did not find my problem. =(

I seemed to have resolved this – The issue seemed to be a compatability option with a browser extension I had installed a week ago. Sometimes it really does help to get some sleep and step back from an issue lol.

Gimpycat, may I ask you, which extension it was and to which browser?

I was having much the same issue. Turns out that when I was using Mozilla 1.7.8 (Work PC) I would get the reverting sidebar. When I used Firefox (v.2.0, Mac or PC) it would not. I am running Multizilla on Mozilla, nothing special about my Firefox install here at work.
