Hello. I'm working on a single project that extends over four separate domains and which requires four different WP themes. Understanding that it's difficult for anyone to settle on a theme for any given site, I consider myself lucky to have found three that are working very well for me, and I've contributed donations to each of those themes' authors to thank them for their work.
Finding (settling on) a fourth theme has been difficult, though. I have looked at a thousand or more themes from a variety of sources, and I've yet to find one that suits my needs (which are more aesthetic than functional).
I know that I haven't exhausted the available theme resources, but one thing I'm wondering about is whether themes that are available for sale differ in any substantive way from free themes I might find elsewhere.
My question:
Does the 'premium' one pays for a premium theme ever buy extra functionality or a greater feature set, better coding, better design? Or is the fact that one theme is premium and another is free rooted more in a particular theme author's philosophical grounding?
Thank you for your insights.
