[resolved] Broken theme but changed nothing: Blue Zinfandel Squared 2.0 (13 posts)

I can't seem to figure this out. Blue Zinfandel Squared 2.0, which was working just fine yesterday, is suddenly completely broken in IE 6. The main content is under the sidebar: http://etsyglass.com/blog/

I removed the latest posts to see if that was the problem - nope. I completely deleted and reinstalled the theme to see if that would fix it - nope. I disabled all plugins (there weren't any new ones but I'm desperate) and that didn't fix it.

    Help?

    LisK,

It looks fine to me using a Mozilla browser. What is the problem you are seeing?

    LisK,

I am fairly certain I know what the problem is and can fix it in minutes. Contact me directly using the contact form at my website. Once we get it fixed I will post the solution here for others who might have the same problem.

It looks like you have it fixed. What did you do to fix it?

All of the posts were showing up under the sidebar. I figured out the problem. I added align=left to a table that was also width=100%. Apparently that's a nono. When I removed align=left it went back to normal.

The theme does not use tables in it's design, as it is a CSS layout with <div> tags rather than the inappropriate <table> use. You really should strive to keep tables out of the markup.

    My .02 cents. :-)

The table that broke it wasn't in the theme it was in a post.

Your theme is broken this morning when I view it with Mozilla Firefox 1.5.

I captured a screenshot of what I see.

The table is part of the theme, because it's the theme that controls the placement of the posts.

I'm experiencing a similar problem. We love this theme, but we haven't been able to make it work in IE 6.0. It works fine in IE 7. Do you know how to resolve the issue of the posts going under the sidebar?

    Your help is greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks,

First off, someone kill the spam.

I fixed your problem in a matter of 2 seconds by removing that wide image in your first post.

You cannot put a 500pixel image into a 400pixel wide div.

problems with "dropped sidebars" are covered rather extensively here.

First, thank you for the input. I changed the size and now it is working on both IE 6 and IE 7.

Second, I have been researching this issue for the past 2 days and unfortunately I couldn't find the answer. I apologize for the inconvenience.

    Sincerely,
    Ana
